Murang'a Woman, 47, Hacks Husband to Death, Sets His Body on Fire

Police in Murang’a are holding a 47-year-old woman in connection with the brutal killing of her husband.

The woman is said to have hacked his spouse to death using a machete after a domestic dispute before setting his body on fire.

She also attempted to bury the deceased remains outside their home in Good Samaritan village, Gatanga on Saturday morning.

Murang’a County police commander Josphat Kinyua says the woman was arrested alongside her three teenage children, who are suspected to have helped their mother commit the crime.

Speaking to the Daily Nation, James Ndirangu, a brother of the deceased, says he was attracted to his brother’s home by huge smoke only to find the suspect preparing to bury her husband.

“I had just woken up when I saw huge flames at my brother’s home. I approached and found his wife digging a hole and she told me she was burning old rugs.”

“I was not satisfied with the answer and pretended to go back to my house. I looked back and saw her dragging a body,” he says.

Ndirangu immediately alerted neighbors who found a partly burnt body of his brother on arrival.

Police have launched investigations into the man’s killing.

  2. Does the name Ndirangu sound…
Does the name Ndirangu sound familiar to you? If it does not it is a Nyerian name. This means the culprits are from Nyeri even though they reside in Muranga County. The hallmark of the crime and the manner in which it was carried bears the footmark of most crimes that occurs in Nyeri. Unlike crime from other sections of the Kenyan society Nyeri crimes are unique in nature in that they seem to exclusively start in the bedroom. Could that be what happened in this case? Lose of any human life is not something to cherish for regardless of the circumstances that led to it. We can talk and have all sort of ideas but only Nyeri people can be able to readdress this on and off problem. Perhaps Nyeri elders need to do what their ancestors always did in times of sorrow-Turn to Kirinyaga and seek for divine intervention

    • Pure nonse!!!. Rubbish!!!…
Pure nonse!!!. Rubbish!!!. There is no crisis in Nyeri that is not anywhere else. Yes Nyeri men are weak in bed and tend to be controlled by their women but this is who they are and people should respect that. We have far worse cultures in Kenya but people only want to point their finger at Nyeri people as if they have the worst culture in Kenya. What about the stories we read in newspapers about people around Kakamega and Bungoma sleeping with chicken. What about those of Limuru sleeping with sheep and donkeys or people in Kisumu sleeping with corpse? Is it normal thing and Nyeri incidents are the abnormal ones?. People should leave Nyeri people alone

  3. Jino kwa jino! Others hack…
Jino kwa jino! Others hack to death their spouse, some chop off the genitals and this one just trying to make nyama choma. Why didn’t they feed her the burned corpse? Feed her the nyama choma then burn her as well. That’s the salvage way
