Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed claims that there are divisions within the governing Jubilee party.
Ruto insists that despite recent wrangles in the party, Jubilee remains intact and united under the leadership of President Kenyatta.
“There are no factions in Jubilee. We are one family and our purpose is to serve Kenyans,” says Ruto while speaking in Nakuru County.
Ruto says that the ruling party was founded to unite Kenyans and has accused Opposition leader Raila Odinga of trying to sow seeds of discord in Jubilee.
“Jubilee is not available for division and propaganda. We will defend the unity of our country and the government’s development track-record.”
He further declares that any attempts to split Jubilee will be met with resistance even as he exuded confidence that the party will remain strong ahead of 2022 elections.
“All elected leaders in Jubilee [form] one team under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta. We are going to defend its unity and development agenda at all costs,” says Ruto.
