Autopsy Suggests Nairobi Lawyer Assa Nyakundi Shot, Killed Son from Outside Car After Confrontation

An autopsy report carried out on the body of Joseph Nyakundi, the son of city lawyer Assa Nyakundi, has revealed that the 29-year-old was shot from outside the car.

The report contradicts lawyer Nyakundi’s statement recorded with the police, where he claimed to have shot him while trying to holster his firearm inside the car.

Nyakundi said his second-born son was seated on the back seat when he accidentally shot him in the chest.

The autopsy report shows Joseph succumbed to chest injuries and excessive bleeding due to a gunshot from a low-velocity firearm.

“The shot projection from the chest exiting at the back suggested that whoever shot him was standing outside the rear right back door of motor vehicle KCE 753B Toyota Axio which belongs to the father of deceased,” reads the report.

“The angle of shooting according to the projection could be ninety degrees, suggesting there was a confrontation.”

The autopsy has been done by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor in the presence of the homicide team, and government chemists.

Also present were ballistic experts, forensic analysts from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and lawyer Cliff Ombeta, who is representing Nyakundi.

On Tuesday, detectives
found two firearms and 471 rounds of ammunition during a raid of lawyer Nyakundi’s house in Muthaiga North.

The raid was part of the ongoing investigations into circumstances under which the advocate allegedly accidentally shot and killed his son as they returned home from Church on Sunday afternoon.

Following the incident on Sunday, police officers confiscated the advocate’s Glock pistol, which was loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition.

The 60-year-old lawyer was arrested and taken to Muthaiga Police Station but was later rushed to Nairobi Hospital after he suffered blood pressure complications. He is still recuperating at the facility.

The lawyer said the son was pronounced dead on arrival at the Aga Khan Hospital.

  6. What an irrational man. What…
What an irrational man. What type of lawyer has he been and who does he represent? A 60 year old man who has not learned patience and self- control. What was the gun for? Guns are for those whose blessings are the sword. You carry a gun to kill others but you end up using it to kill your own. There is a lesson to be learned here. (We all need to learn bible prophecies) They apply here. What is someone else’s blessing, may be your curse and especially if you carry it to church in the name of the Most High (God). Your faith is in the gun, not in God. Moral Bankruptcy of man- made religions.

  7. We carry bibles and not…
We carry bibles and not loaded guns to church, This so called attorney seems to have PTSD after a lengthy military service in northeast Kenya. He couldn’t take that none sense from the young man, first walked all way to the altar for Chakula cha bwana with his pants hanging down on knees, on the way back home he blasts loudly his Bongo flavor trash music while daddy driving the car, a tense confrontation erupts and daddy say ok now the only remaining option is send you back to hell. His mistake was to rush him to hospital and even report to police station. He could have hired only two thugs to go and dumb the youngmans’ remains somewhere in mid Masai Mara let hyenas take care of him or doctor his death then burry him in dignified way, well you harvest what you sow also we should remember that wisdom evaporates so fast whenever there is confrontation with guns on hand

What on earth are you trying to do/say @Kikuyu Wamjomba?

  8. I think the old lad just…
I think the old lad just started episodes of “How to get away with Murder” and was testing some theories. Either way, when all is said and done, I trust Science. Assa Nyakundi, knowingly killed his son, atleast we can all agree with that. Reason? Was it a spur of the moment thing? A reaction after son was disrespectful? Was the son blackmailing his father, wanting money and not taking no for an answer? Did the son stumble into some information about his father that he was relentless about sharing it with the world? Did the son just reveal that he was gay and being adamant about marrying a fellow man? OR did he just find out that his father had a fetish for dressing up as a woman and was having a secret affair with a man? Gosh that would be something! Either way, iko siku mambo itajulikana. Vitu kaa hizi hujipata zinalipuka tu, au sio! My only other question is huyu Cliff Ombeta ako all over the place, running around with people’s secrets. Yaani kila kesi abnormal, hakosekani! Naye pia achunge, mtu anaweza mumiminia marisasi asiwahi toboa siri zao. Some careers are just too dangerous. In other instances I would say good luck with your case Nyakundi, in this one, burn in hell.
