President Kenyatta has threatened to fire Cabinet Secretaries found engaging in politics at the expense of service delivery.
Addressing residents of Kitengela town, President Kenyatta has asked CSs to choose between politicking and serving Kenyans.
“We will not be fed by politics. We will be fed by our efforts and hard work that will improve the lives of all Kenyans,” says Kenyatta.
“Today I held a Cabinet meeting and I told our Cabinet Secretaries that anyone who is not ready for service delivery they are free to leave because I have so many young Kenyans who are willing and ready to work.”
Citing his handshake with Opposition leader Raila Odinga, Kenyatta has also urged Kenyans to remain united and reject politics of ethnicity and division.
“Raila and I used to compete politically but we are now united. We need to decide as Kenyans that we will live together peacefully and work together to develop our nation and East Africa. Politics cannot feed us, we will be fed by our hard work,” notes Kenyatta.
Kenyatta was traveling to Arusha, Tanzania where he’s set to attend the East African Community Heads of State Summit.
The pot calling the kettle…
The pot calling the kettle black. The boy in statehouse politics all the time in public then turns around and points fingers at others. As usual engaging in theatrics and sideshows while the country is engulfed in ever increasing corruption whose drivers are his appointees. Corruption that drives poverty and misery. Have you no shame?
Actions speak louder than…
Actions speak louder than words. In military and police circles there is something called “warning shot” that is meant to send a no-nonsense stance and a last warning before unprecedented consequences befall the culprit. Sir, with the casualness we see on most of them, words alone will not deter them-need a warning shot. in another world and in a simplistic way, my boss in his wisdom decided that each of his direct reports (I included) had to make a presentation to the stakeholders and staff at the start-of-the-year planning day. He was going to call one after another, take your 20 minutes to highlight your units’ success, challenges and opportunities. To those who never used to do their homework right and just rode on the wave of the group, it was like a nightmare after a horror movie. Back to the house on the hill, please call out specific culprits rather than generalizing. It demoralizes those who do their job (albeit minimal) when a blanket condemnation like this is issued. On some good days umesema kila mtu atabeba msalaba wake. If everyone atabeba msalaba wake mwenyewe; why nail all of them on one cross?
