President Kenyatta has once again appeared to throw his weight behind calls for a referendum to introduce amendments to the Constitution.
Addressing mourners during the burial of former Youth Enterprise Development Fund boss Bruce Odhiambo in Kisumu, Kenyatta says there is a need to change the law in order to create a more inclusive government.
Kenyatta says the country must adopt a system where no one feels left out of government.
“Our politics must not be on the basis that some people win and others lose. We have to look at a way of in which we can remodel our politics so that we never have some Kenyans feel excluded when others are in government,” says Kenyatta who was accompanied by Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
He says forming an inclusive government is the only way the country can realize sustainable peace and development.
This is the second time President Uhuru has hinted at a referendum to alter the country government system after making similar sentiments in Kisumu last month.
“This politics where we are competing for others to join the government as we lock others out must come to an end.
We want competition that will ensure that every community in Kenya feels as part of the government,” Kenyatta said during a tour to the lakeside city, where he launched development projects.
Odinga has been the main proponent of a referendum to change the law while Deputy President William Ruto is one of those opposed to the push.
This is just the idea to…
This is just the idea to expect from one that was born with silver spoon in his mouth and has since never put in a day of serious work. Stop wasting kenyan taxes.
Kenyans are struggling to put food on the table in your failing economy and you are adding a burden on them
Where is the leadership?
Man proposes,God disposes!…
Man proposes,God disposes! In the long run all will be well for Kenya.
God give Kenya leaders not politicians. God help Kenya!!!
Ladies and gentlemen here is…
Ladies and gentlemen here is the referendum for Raila’s path to Presidency and dynasties status quo as master minded by Raila with Uhuru following blindly like a sheep to the slaughter: Raila president, Gideon Moi deputy president, Uhuru prime minister, Mudavadi deputy prime minister, Kalonzo deputy prime minister and a slot for Joho. A new political party will soon be launched jointly by Raila and Uhuru as founders. (Remember KANU 1963- both Kenyatta and Odinga; the more things change the more they remain the same). Tones of money (mostly looted in corruption) will be poured all over the nation to buy and force the referendum through. Once that is achieved the rest is easy. Elections for the newly created posts shall fall exactly as planned. With Raila’s keen political maneuvers- what cannot be won in a fair and open elections-shall be bought or rigged. Nothing can stop this train except informed and mobilized masses ready to fight for freedom from Dynasties that have messed up our country with unbridled corruption, nepotism, immorality and greed for the last 55years. If we let ourselves be bamboozled by our corrupt leaders, with shall have condemned the future generations into a life misery and hopelessness. There should be no referendum simply to create political offices for dynasties and friends! That is an abuse of our Constitution.
It’s starting to look like…
It’s starting to look like giving Uhuru the presidency was a big mistake. He’s now getting ready to mortgage the country. After China’s loans run dry, the citizenry will foot the bill of an added unnecessary burden of leaders. If it was not necessary in your two terms to have a PM and the others you want to force on Kenyans, why is it necessary when you go out? You are betraying the trust Kenyans put on you. My fellow Kenyans, refuse to be burdened yet again with more political offices. The best a memorandum should achieve is to cut by half the number of MPs, reduce by 60% the MCAs and eradicate the both the senate and women’s representatives. Ruto, you were promised gold, but your friend who you stood with all these years is giving you empty air. Trusting some of these leaders is like trusting your land to a land grabber. Now you know.
Big big mistake. He is…
Big big mistake. He is totally inept. There have been just two growth industries during his tenure. Betting and corruption.
