Nairobi Ranked Africa's Most Dynamic City, Sixth Globally

Kenyan capital, Nairobi has been ranked as the most dynamic city in Africa and among the top 10 in the world.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has listed Nairobi as the sixth most dynamic city in the globe in the annual City Momentum Index (CMI).

CMI says the Kenyan capital city is projected to have one of the fastest-growing populations in the world over the next five years. The report further says that Nairobi has a strong Asian influence with significant amounts of investment in infrastructure from China.

Kenya’s biggest city also earned the place due to its ability to embrace technological change, sustain rapid population increase as well as strengthen global connectivity.

India’s Bengaluru city is ranked the world’s most dynamic city followed by Hyderabad city (India) Hanoi (Vietnam), New Delhi (India) and Pune, another city in India.

This year’s rankings find the fastest urban growth continues to shift away from the West to the East. The Asia Pacific accounts for 19 of the top 20 cities in this year’s index, and overall, Indian and Chinese cities held 75 percent of the top 20.

The City Momentum Index ranked 131 established and emerging business hubs across the world to identify the urban economies that are currently undergoing the most rapid expansion.

Kenya would have been one of the best African nation if it wasn’t being robbed by politicians and cartels. Kenya has been resilient despite exacerbation of chronic corruption.

“Kenya’s biggest city also earned the place due to its ability to embrace technological change, sustain rapid population increase as well as strengthen global connectivity”
That sustain population increase is a total lie. They need to visit the slums, semi-slums and test the air quality in CBD. That WEF is a total fraud.

    • Population increase with…
Population increase with shortage of housing ,jobs, food and ample sewage, and water system, spells trouble.Did i not read on mwakilishi that daytime robbery and car hijacking are back in Nairobi.Ibelieve that the cops alsoo short 4 thugs…
Besides that I wouldn’t thumb my chest that we are making progress so long as i continue to read that certain parts of the country patients share hospital beds. And some are taken to these hospitals on wheelbarrows.
We should only pop our champaign bottles when the reportcard says:

Is there any reason why we cannt get such areport card? And yes Iam ready for some to say such a country does not exist. And why not?

  4. Wow! Definitely didn’t know…
Wow! Definitely didn’t know that Kenya was part of the top 10 most dynamic city in the world, and is the most dynamic city in Africa. I wouldn’t be so surprised specially with the developments within the city. A quick stop at this place would definitely be worth its while. Not only to enjoy the traditional offerings of a modern city but to also experience what’s unique in Nairobi. For example, the Nairobi National Park and the Giraffe Center are great stops to make while you’re in town. I also heard that the bazaars and flea markets are great places to stop for souvenirs.
