Appeals Court Dismisses Martha Karua's Case Challenging Governor Anne Waiguru's Election

The Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru’s election following an appeal filed by her rival Martha Karua of Narc Kenya.

The Appeals Court has ruled that the appellant failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove claims of bribery in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial election.

“There was no prejudice suffered by the appellant in failure by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to produce the Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIMS) kit,” reads part of the ruling delivered by Justice Gatembu Kairu.

Karua moved to the Appellate Court in June 2018 after Kerugoya High Court struck out her petition challenging Governor Waiguru’s victory on August 8th, 2017 elections.

In her ruling, Justice Lucy Gitari said Karua’s petition lacked merit and ordered her to pay costs amounting to Sh5 million.

Waiguru was declared the winner of the election after garnering 153,353 votes (53,87 percent) against Karua’s 116,626 votes (40.97 percent).

  1. Waiguru was put to inspire…
Waiguru was put to inspire Kikuyu children to grow up and be thieves.

    Why is Martha Karua appealing?

Someone needs to tell her, stealing is part of Kikuyu culture.

Kikuyu children are being taught to be :

    1. Thieves— like Ann Waiguru, Uhuru Kenyatta
    2. Alcoholics— like Uhuru Kenyatta
    3. Hooligans —like Waititu and Alice Wahome
    4. Uncouth—- like Moses Kuria
    5. Prostitutes —like majority of their women reps
    6. Poachers and environmental destroyers— Mama Ngina

    Among other things….
We need secession, these people are running towards hell.

    We are not boarding….

    • Yep! While Martha Karua…
Yep! While Martha Karua seems to have Forgotten that in 2007 she was the Mastermind that STOLE (for Kibaki) Raila’s presidency: It’s KARma, and KARMA for her.?

  2. Bahati ya mwenzio usiilalie…
Bahati ya mwenzio usiilalie mlango wazi and as one young singer sang the other day ” good things have their owners” and that includes holding political offices. Let Anne’s star shine, she is holding all the aces and a county to govern, before she moves the next notch higher.

      • Nope. One does not need…
Nope. One does not need enough (50%) corrupt people to vote them in office. Unless you imply that it takes a corrupt ward, corrupt constituency, a corrupt county, a corrupt country to vote in a corrupt leader. Good citizens can easily vote in a corrupt person. Calling one corrupt does not make them so particularly in the face of their people. In our political system morality is only part of the equation that determines who comes on top!

  3. Karua big loser like raila…
