Kenyan security authorities have issued an alert over planned terror attacks targeting two major buildings in Nairobi.
Police say they have received intelligence reports showing that terrorists are planning to stage attacks on Times Tower and Treasury buildings in Nairobi.
Police say a suspect identified as Ahmed Harith Mahmoud plans to carry out the attack between October 28th and November 4th.
“Harith is an associate and logistician of Ahmed Iman Ali alias Engineer. He was born in Majengo and is currently based in Somalia,” Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) says in a brief.
“The subject has been conducting reconnaissance on the above-mentioned targets and has been working in collaboration with five others.”
DCI says the five include a woman and four men who are believed to be residents of Umoja and Kariobangi estates in Nairobi.
“Alert the offices to be on high alert to thwart any impending attacks,” the brief adds as quoted by The Star.
