Sarova Hotels Chairman Saveer Vohra has passed away in a road accident while travelling to Nairobi from Mombasa.
Vohra died together with his wife, sister and daughter-in-law during the crash that occurred at at Kiungwani area, Makueni County along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway at around 3pm on Sunday.
The accident involved a Toyota Prado that Vohra’s family was traveling in. His son reportedly survived the crash and is currently receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital in critical condition.
“Two people died on the spot and the other two were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” area Police Boss Charles Muthui has confirmed.
The vehicle is said to have veered off the road before landing into a ditch. Bodies of the deceased were taken to Machakos Level V Hospital mortuary.
In November last year, Vohra’s son JS Vohra died in a road accident near Amboseli Lodge in Kajiado County. He was Sarova Hotels Managing Director at the time of his death.
