A section of leaders drawn from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) have petitioned Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji to investigate Deputy President William Ruto’s source of wealth.
Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the leaders question the source of millions of shillings the Deputy President donates at fundraisers across the country every weekend.
The leaders have cited the recently enacted rules and regulations regarding the withdrawal of huge amounts of cash from commercial banks as the reason why Ruto should be probed.
“Nowadays to withdraw a million shillings from the bank is not an easy thing. So the investigative agencies must also investigate where these millions of shillings being dished out are coming from,” said Orengo while speaking in Ugunja Constituency on Sunday.
The Senate Minority Leader further warned churches against accepting money whose source is suspicious. “And our churches stop accepting stolen. This is the devil’s money,” said the senator.
His sentiments were echoed by Alego-Usonga MP Samuel Atandi who said that impunity must be dealt with if the war against corruption is to be won.
“I want to ask William Ruto, from which bank do you withdraw millions of shillings you carry in bags. You cannot withdraw such amounts of money unless you explain the purpose of that money,” said MP Atandi.
He added: “If William Ruto continues to carry loads of cash in bags and we say we are fighting corruption. We are doing nothing.”
It is about it. Financial…
It is about it. Financial audit for all public employees is a must. They should all account for their wealth otherwise all this talk about fighting public corruption is a smoke screen. We should not elect or re-elect anyone unless they fill up financial disclosure forms.
Amen!
Amen!
Ruto will sic his death…
Ruto will sic his death squads to silence y’all then ask” mta do??????”
I agree with James Orengo…
I agree with James Orengo. Let us account for Ruto’s wealth. However, the state should not stop there. Let the state account for Raila’s wealth, James Orengo’s wealth and the wealth of all others who call themselves public servants. In addition, no one should be allowed to run for a public office until they declare their wealth and the source of such wealth. Such people who intend to run for public office should declare their intent to do so a year earlier so they can go through an audit of their wealth. Let all public servants be ready for the audit. God give Kenya leaders and not politicians. God help Kenya!!!
