Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka says he was never going to take oath during January 30th mock swearing-in of opposition National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders led by Raila Odinga.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Kalonzo said he opposed the move right from the time it was proposed by a section of Nasa leaders.
Musyoka further revealed that Odinga was aware that he was not going to be part of the mock swearing-in and that he would take oath as ‘people’s president’ without him.
“Raila and I knew that he was going to take that oath alone, between Raila and myself, he knew I was not going to take that oath,” claimed Kalonzo, adding that he let the interests of the country reign.
“We were going to be regarded as pariahs by the international community, it is terrible when I reflect about it. I have always stood for honest politics . I am guided by what is reasonable and that which is in the best interest of the nation,” said Kalonzo.
Kalonzo announced he will be running for presidency in 2022 and is ready to face any candidate including Deputy President William Ruto who is considered the frontrunner.
“I can’t be a professional running mate, the time to give it a real shot is now,” said Musyoka.
Mr. Watermelon you had a…
Mr. Watermelon you had a good chance to become Kenya’s President right after your Vice-president position. It was a great opportunity, but you lost it. You should not remind Kenyans the shameful chapter that you and Raila wrote for our country. If you cared about the country, you would have stated your stand before things went too far. You stayed silent because of self interest. Kenyan’s know you have never had a stand of your own. You can never be a leader, you have always been a follower and watermelon. Dynasties are stale. Kenya needs new thinking that is not corrupted by power. Retire with the Dynasties and you will be alright. May God give Kenya leaders and not politicians. God help Kenya!!
