Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has expressed interest in running for the presidency in 2022.
Speaking on Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange Live program on Wednesday night, Kabogo said he is no longer interested in local politics (Kiambu) as his focus now is on serving Kenyans on the national level.
“I am not focused in local politics and my interest is to serve Kenyans on the national level,” the former Governor stated.
He maintained that Deputy President William Ruto had a hand in his defeat to current Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu during Jubilee Party primaries last year.
“Ruto was the man in-charge at Jubilee headquarters, so who else did you want me to blame for the shambolic Jubilee primaries?…anyway I have moved on,” Kabogo said.
“I didn’t lose, those were the results of the party members organizing the event. The people who organized the election made sure that Kabogo lost. He (Ruto)should take blame for what happened because he was in charge of the nomination,” he added.
Kabogo says that he would however shelve his presidential ambitions to deputize a candidate who has better chances.
“Who wouldn’t want to be Deputy president..if I know you have chances and come to me I would say let’s go,” he notes.
Go boy go. But remember we…
Go boy go. But remember we are watching you. Do not drug our youths as you run. What’s is your track record? Can we see your trail in Kiambu other than an astromic rise in the number of bars and illicit liquor joints. The women’s memory is still alive. You burned your own house. Good luck buddy.
