Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have arrested another National Intelligence Service (NIS) impostor in Nairobi.
Muigai Ngugi alias Moses Muigai Ngugi was arrested at Nyayo House on Wednesday after obtaining Sh300,000 under false pretense.
Police said the suspect was in possession of eight fake identification cards with different serial numbers, two cards identifying him as an officer from the Office of Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), five NIS cards and another from Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs).
He was also found with two pistols, 800 rounds of ammunition and a copy of civilian certificate of firearms.
His arrest comes barely days after another impostor was arrested with several fake identification cards from different government agencies including NIS.
Moses Muigai Ngugi was apprehended by sleuths from DCI in Nairobi’s Lavington estate where he had met businessman Francis Mburu.
He had been posing as an NIS, Kebs, EACC, ODPP and immigration official on different occasions around Nairobi. He was found with two firearms and more than 700 bullets.
