First Lady Margaret Kenyatta is set to deliver a keynote address at the annual leadership forum for Education and Health Ministers at Harvard University in the United States.
Mrs. Kenyatta arrived in Massachusetts, US on Sunday for the forum and other official engagements.
The flight carrying the First Lady and her delegation landed at Boston Edward Logan International Airport shortly before 2.00 p.m. (local time). She was received by Kenya’s Ambassador to the US, Robinson Njeru Githae at the airport on arrival.
The Harvard Ministerial Leadership Forum is designed to stimulate transformative vision, enhance leadership effectiveness and political acumen, and develop planning and execution capacity among Ministers.
It supports leaders across the world achieve the full benefits of a healthy and productive population.
In her presentation at the forum where more than 15 African countries will participate, the First Lady will highlight the achievements of her Beyond Zero campaign and her future plans in promoting a healthier, more productive Kenya.
The first phase of the Beyond Zero campaign made a positive impact on maternal health at the grassroots. She presented a mobile clinic in each of the country’s 47 counties.
Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki will represent Kenya at the ministerial level at the four-day Harvard forum that commenced on Sunday.
