A section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Members of Parliament claim that Deputy President William Ruto is Kenya’s number one enemy.
Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, the MPs accused Ruto of blackmailing President Kenyatta and holding the country hostage.
“We wish to advise Ruto to stop looking for enemies in the wrong places. In his quest to be president, Ruto is the enemy he is looking for. What stands between Ruto and the presidency is not His Excellency Raila Amolo Odinga. It is Ruto’s character, his bad record in office and the perceptions about him by the general public,” the MPs said.
The leaders, who included MPs Anthony Oluoch, Geoffrey Osotsi and Women Representatives Zulekha Juma Hassan (Kwale), Florence Mutua (Busia), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), further termed Ruto a bitter man who can’t be entrusted with the presidency.
“Kenyans have a problem trusting their country and their children with such a bitter and seemingly vengeful man. Kenyans must take note that even retired President Daniel arap Moi who created Ruto is today running away from him. Ruto has to deal with that,” they said.
They also accused the DP of using a section of Jubilee MPs to blackmail President Uhuru and other communities to back his 2022 presidential ambitions by force.
“They are blackmailing President Uhuru Kenyatta and the people of Kenya that if Ruto’s wish to be president is not granted, they will target and evict the Kikuyu, Luhya, Abagusii and Luo living in the Rift Valley. The DP and his team want their way by hostage holding.”
The MPs further wondered why Ruto was opposed to the push for amendments into the 2010 Constitution, while he was one of those who vehemently campaigned against it.
“He vehemently opposed the 2010 Constitution on grounds that it had loopholes. Now, when we call for the fixing of the loopholes, he retorts that the Constitution must not be changed. That hypocrisy is standing between him and the presidency,” the MPs said.
This article is a good…
This article is a good example of propaganda and fake news. This is a laundry list of allegations and accusations without evidence. Ruto is number one enemy, he is blackmailing the President, bitter man, vengeful, holding country hostage, perception about Ruto by the general public; Where is the supporting evidence?
Yes, Ruto was against 2010 Constitution but that was before Kenyans came out in support of the same and like every Kenyan Ruto supports our Constitution. As for the amendments being proposed, it is wrong to insinuate that Kenyans are for it but Ruto is against it because that is tantamount to fake news.
The article goes even further to be inflammatory, incitive, fear mongering by suggesting that Kenya is headed to ethnic cleansing in the Rift valley the likes of 2007/08 PEV, and all these based on the author’s baseless allegations and accusations- that is preposterous.
ODM trying to create a rift…
ODM trying to create a rift in Jubilee. We are very familiar with this movie, it is an old tired one, spare us the agony of this F-rated movie.
Ruto, you have served your…
Ruto, you have served your time as a vice president and it’s time now to move to something else: but not “THE PRESIDENT of Kenya.” If you had a “secret hand shake with Uhuru, it was just between two people, but not the entire citizens of the Republic of Kenya.
Please tell us who were responsible for the “holocaust” in Kiambaa Church in Eldoret? Please remember that, there is no statute of limitation when a single life is terminated prematurely.
The British were able to compensate the freedom fighters many years after Kenya had achieved her independence. We would like you also to come clean and tell us about the Kiambaa unfortunate genocide. We have not forgotten and we will not.
