President Kenyatta Sounds Warning on Corrupt State Officers

Enough is enough, President Kenyatta has declared as he sounded warning on government officials engaging in corruption.

Speaking on Thursday, the President said corruption could undermine his Big Four agenda for the country, warning that stern action will be taken on any office caught engaging in the vice.

“We must address the real elephant in the room. We must say enough is enough for the country to move forward,” said President Kenyatta.

He called for concerted efforts by the private and public sectors as well as the judiciary and the legislature in slaying the dragon.

“Time for politicking is behind us. We must clean and move the country forward,” he said.

He added: “I have had an opportunity to work with wonderful and dedicated men and women full of integrity. But some are not prepared to change.”

“We are all to blame. But we must now say enough is enough and move forward,” said the President.

The head of state spoke at the 8th Presidential Round Table Forum at State House, Nairobi. The forum brought together both government and partners from the private alliance under the umbrella of KEPSA (Kenya Private Sector Alliance).

President Uhuru appointed Deputy Head of Public Service Wanyama Musiambu to lead the war against graft, illicit trade, counterfeits, fake business stickers, dumping and entry of fake goods into the country.

  1. The only way to defeat…
The only way to defeat corruption is to amend the Constitution and set up an independent prosecution authority, one that cannot be influenced by Parliament or the Executive.
