Deported lawyer Miguna Miguna has continued to poke holes on the handshake between Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta.
The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general said the handshake between the two leaders has failed to achieve its alleged objective- reconciling Kenyans.
In a tweet addressed to Raila, the controversial lawyer questioned why he had not been allowed back to the country, if the handshake was truly about the country’s unity.
Miguna, who was kicked out of the country for the second time last month, wondered why the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader was yet to be arrested if he (Miguna) committed treason by administering an oath to him.
“To @RailaOdinga: If I committed treason for swearing you in, why haven’t you been arrested, detained and exiled like me? Why haven’t I been taken to court? If your handcheque with @UKenyatta seeks to “reconcile” Kenyans, why am I not in Kenya? Be honest with Kenyans,” He said in a tweet.
Speaking on Wednesday in Kakamega, where he delivered a key-note address at the 5th annual Devolution Conference, Raila noted that the government didn’t arrest him for taking oath, because he won last year’s presidential elections.
He insisted that National Super Alliance (Nasa) accessed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers and that the results in the system showed that he won.
“This was why I was not arrested even after taking the oath.”
