No Mercy for Looters of Public Funds, President Kenyatta Warns State Officials

President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a stern warning to state officials plundering public resources, stating that they will not be spared.

Addressing Governors and delegates attending the 5th annual Devolution Conference in Kakamega via a video link from State House in Nairobi, Uhuru reassured of his commitment to supporting devolution.

Uhuru, who was set to officially open the Governor’s jamboree on Tuesday, cancelled the trip after the weather proved harsh, making it impossible for his chopper to fly.

He pledged to continue supporting county governments, but warned that he will show no mercy on officials who loot public funds.

“The only way to ensure the ‘Big Four’ agenda succeeds is through leadership, not politics and corruption,” he said.

“There is no collective guilt. Those who steal should be ready to carry their individual crosses. There will be no hiding behind cocoons, whether religious or tribal because you stole alone,” President Kenyatta added.

He urged Governors to cooperate with the national government in realisation of his ‘Big Four’ agenda namely; universal health care, food security, affordable housing and manufacturing.

Kenyatta stressed on universal healthcare, stating that health is very important to Kenyans.

“We have to prioritise healthcare because health troubles Kenyans the most. Medical harambees (fundraisers) have become a permanent feature of our healthcare system.”

He added: “We can deliver if we work together in the spirit of cooperation, coordination to show by example that we value the lives of Kenyans.”

Start with your sister who bought $6000 container clinics for ministry of health and charged Kenya $100,000 each. (remmember the 100 container clinics for Ksh.1b?).

Please start by not amending the Constitution you vowed to protect by creating new positions that will be very costly to Wanjiku. After two elections, Kenya cannot afford to pay for new positions. This will be the highest form of corruption. Defend the Constitution, like you said you would. Do not allow it to be changed under your watch just to appease greed for power you will fail not only the current generation but future generations too. If you fail to protect it, that will become your legacy. Make Kenya be based on merit not inclusivity. By making inclusivity our theme, we will have destroyed our country. From now on, it will not be because you are capable, you can lead, manage, have a trail of achievement but will be because you are from a certain tribe. As President, you choose where you will take the country.
