Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria Accorded Warm Reception in Raila's Nyanza Backyard

Homa Bay residents accorded Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria a warm reception when he toured the area on Saturday, signifying the ‘wonders’ President Kenyatta’s handshake with opposition leader Raila Odinga has achieved.

Kuria, who has even been charged in court in the past with hate speech against Raila Odinga and his supporters, attended a fundraising event after an invite by his erstwhile nemesis Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga.

Speaking during the function, Kuria sought to disclose details of his recent meeting with Raila at his office in Capitol Hill, Nairobi.

“When I visited Mr Odinga in his office, he told me that the handshake is useless unless we devolve it to Kenyans,” said Mr Kuria.

He joined Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo for the fundraiser at Odienya SDA Church in Kochia, Rangwe Constituency.

“I agreed with Mr Odinga that leaders from all parts of the country should begin to promote reconciliation in the country after the handshake,” said Kuria amid cheers from the crowd.

Kuria, who contributed Sh1 million to the church, preached peace and unity and urged Kenyans to back Raila-Uhuru unity efforts.

“This is the first day I am devolving the handshake. I want to invite your leaders to visit Rift Valley and Central Kenya because this handshake is for all Kenyans,” said Mr Kuria.
