Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has opened up on his meeting with opposition leader Raila Odinga at his Capitol Hill office on Tuesday.
Speaking to Inooro TV on Thursday, Kabogo said that the unity deal between President Uhuru and Odinga was among the issues that they discussed.
Kabogo further noted that he sought to establish why the Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) between the two was taking long to implement. During the talks, Kabogo says, Odinga assured him that progress has been made from the unity deal and that all stakeholders will be invited to participate.
“We talked about the handshake and how we will move from there. It is a month since since the two of them had the handshake so I wanted to know how we will extend the handshake to the rest of the country. “
“We agreed that he will begin spreading the message to his people, and we will do the same on our side,” Kabogo stated during an interview with a vernacular TV station.
The former Governor said that end to divisive politics and focus on the country’s development were other agendas of the meeting.
“Former Kiambu Governor @honkabogo paid me a courtesy call at my office. We discussed a wide range of issues relating to our journey as a nation.” Raila said in a tweet after the meeting.
