Five months after exchanging blows and kicks at the Parliament buildings, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and his Starehe counterpart Charles Njagua alias ‘Jaguar’ have reconciled.
The two youthful MPs engaged each other in a physical fight at Parliament media center in October after a heated exchange over the legitimacy of President Kenyatta’s second term.
“We will teach you a lesson you Babu, you must respect the President,” Jaguar was heard shouting, to which Babu replied, “Which President? The only President I know is Raila Odinga.”
However, on Tuesday, the two first time parliamentarians exchanged pleasantries at the National Assembly; their reconciliation coming days after President Kenyatta and National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga entered into a unity pact.
Jaguar and Babu took to social media to announce they had buried the hatchet.
Babu wrote; “Today I met Hon. Jaguar at parliament and reconciled our differences. Promised to work together to serve the interest of Kenyans.”
On his part, Jaguar posted the photos with a caption, “Kenya is finally one…”
