Wiper party Chairman Kivutha Kibwana has hit out at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga over his decision to meet President Kenyatta without consulting other National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang’ula and Musalia Mudavadi.
Prof Kibwana, who is also the governor Makueni County, further termed Raila’s move as lone ranger politics and self-seeking antics.
The Standard quoted Kibwana saying that the move confirmed that Odinga could not be trusted and that Wiper regrets having supported his bid for Presidency in 2013 and 2017.
“We regret that we have sacrificed 10 years for Raila. Was Kalonzo wrong to back Raila in 2013? Would the Kalonzo-Musalia ticket in 2017 have offered Kenyans a better chance?” Kibwana posed.
The governor, a confidant of Wiper Chief Kalonzo Musyoka, also noted that Raila’s January 30th oath ceremony was a decoy for him to enter into negotiations with Jubilee administration.
He questioned: “So what is the value of the famous oath and pretended treason then and now? Why didn’t Raila recognise Uhuru after August 8, 2017 or October 26, 2017? Why did he subject the country to a depressed economy for seven months?”
