President Kenyatta has indicated that he will not be involved in succession politics once his term expires in 2022.
Speaking on Saturday in Machakos when he attended the burial of Raphael Waita, the father of State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita, President Uhuru noted that he is focused on delivering his pledges to Kenyans, after which he will go home.
The President further said that he will leave it on those keen to succeed him to square it up for the Presidency when he leaves office.
“The time of politics is over, now what remains is to implement development projects in every corner of the country. Those interested in 2022 seats will battle it out among themselves, I will be at home,” he stated.
President Kenyatta mourned Waita as a statesman and a great leader, whose life should be emulated.
“We have all heard about his life, we also need to emulate him. If we follow in his footsteps then I assure you we can achieve much more development as a country.”
Uhuru before you retire from…
Uhuru before you retire from politics, please stop harassing the people of Kenya and ordering their arrest for trivial issues as the freedom of speech. I would like to bring to your attention that your brother Barack Obama received more death threats than all former US presidents combined while in office. In addition, the name calling and insults that he received from the American people is unparalleled in the US history and yet no one spent a night in a police station as you have done to several politicians in Kenya.
Take a moment and see what Barack Obama went through during his eight years tenure in the White House:
