Raila ‘Disowns’ Deported Miguna Miguna

National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga has reacted to claims by former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna, where he accused Nasa strategist David Ndii and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Norman Magaya of colluding with Jubilee administration to scuttle the opposition outfit.

In a statement to newsrooms on Monday morning, Odinga termed the claims by Miguna as unfortunate, stating that he has full confidence with both Ndii and Magaya.

“My attention has been drawn to reports in sections of the media, attributed to Miguna Miguna, claiming that two of Nasa Secretariat staff … are working for Jubilee Party.”

He added: “We wish to make it clear that as a coalition, we have full confidence in Ndii and Magaya, who have dedicated time and resources working for Nasa’s course.”

Raila further noted that Miguna’s claims “if at all they were made, are very unfortunate and detrimental to the course we are pursuing”.

He called on all opposition supporters and leaders to ignore the remarks by the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general and concentrate on important issues that Nasa is pushing for.

On Sunday, Miguna claimed he has reliable information to prove that the two were being used by government to cripple the operations of National Resistance Movement and Nasa.

He further alleged that Ndii, who is the chair of Nasa people’s assembly steering committee was opposed to the swearing in of Raila Odinga and was also planning to abandon the coalition together with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Miguna was dramatically deported to Canada by government two weeks ago, over his involvement in the mock swearing in of Odinga as people’s president on January 30th.

Miguna, alongside Ruaraka Member of Parliament TJ Kajwang administered the oath on Raila in a ceremony held at Uhuru Park grounds in Nairobi.
