Wiper Party Deputy leader Farah Maalim has hinted at a possible fallout of National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principals following the January 30th swearing in of its leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking to KTN, the former National Assembly Deputy Speaker also ruled out possibilities of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka taking oath as deputy people’s president.
“I don’t see Nasa surviving beyond that swearing-in. I also see Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetang’ula coming together and reaching out to Mt Kenya region. Politics has just started,” Maalim said.
He added:“I don’t see Kalonzo being sworn in… It is a pity… I would have loved if he (Kalonzo) had taken a firm position from the word go and said, ‘sorry I am a lawyer I don’t want to do this’.”
Maalim, a confidant of Musyoka, further revealed that the four Nasa co-principals have always differed on the oath plan, stating that this is the main reason the coalition will not hold in the near future.
“All along, Kalonzo, Wetang’ula and Mudavadai were opposed to the idea of a swearing-in ceremony,” he said.
The three principals missed the swearing of Odinga two weeks ago, and despite defending their absence, a section of Nasa politicians have accused them of betrayal.
