Babu Owino Locks Himself at Parliament for Fear of Arrest, Vows to Spend the Night There

Embakasi Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino says that he might be forced to spend the night at parliament buildings for fear of arrest.

Speaking to the Star on Wednesday evening, Babu said he had learned that police officers were camping outside Parliament waiting to apprehend him over remarks he made during National Super Alliance (Nasa) rally in Baba Dogo, Nairobi on Sunday.

“Mimi niko hapa Bunge nimejifungia. Hawa askari wako hapa nje na Subaru tatu wangoja nitoke wanishike lakini sioni nikitoka. Kama [mambo yataharibika], nitalala hapa tu,” he said.

(I have locked myself up at Parliament buildings. Officers are waiting outside in six Subarus. They want to arrest me but I don’t think I will get out. If matters worsen, I will spend the night here)

Babu further noted that the officers were also pursuing Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and Siaya senator James Orengo for the same reason.

“We were told they were given orders to break into our homes,” he said.

“Tell Kenyans of goodwill to bring me a blanket and a mattress so that I can have a place to lay my head. I will appreciate this.”

While vowing that the opposition will not succumb to intimidation by Jubilee administration, Babu noted: “Whatever they are doing is not adding value to the country. This is total witch-hunt. An abuse is not a crime. That’s a civil matter. If Interior CS Fred Matiang’i feels I abused him let him proceed to a civil court instead of using police to round us up.”

Police are not allowed to arrest any MP within Parliament premises, as they are granted partial immunity against prosecution while within the compound.

Luos, leaders and wananchi, are being used to settle scores. Wanjigi lost SGR contract commission while Raila lost the airport expansion contract after Uhuruto came to power. In addition, there’s no hope of access to any future deals. Judges, journalists and law enforcement personnel are on these crooks payroll but the gov is slowly making inroads. The panic is on!

  4. @Kenya, @formerlyguest2, and…
    @Kenya, @formerlyguest2, and @Sokora:

My Luo brothers have suffered a great deal in Kenya for only one basic reason, My Gikuyu brothers took an oath in the past that any uncircumcised man will not be the president of Kenya. You saw the other day when Brother Kuria the MP for Gatundu held scissors in his hand for circumcising the Luo men!

He should have been arrested and treated as a criminal. But because he comes from Gatundu, Uhuru remained silent and just looked the other way.

I would like to tell my Gikuyu brothers to be mentally mature and liberated like the Gikuyu women. Please learn from them because they are mature enough to realize that circumcision has nothing to do with maturity and intelligence. They have husbands from all communities of Kenya.

My community circumcises only men. In the past, they also circumcised women but decided to stop. Last month I reported that the Tiriki people of Vihiga county eat monkeys! As long as they don’t give me or force me to eat it for dinner, it is okay with me. I cannot impose my cultural values on anybody else who does not come from my community. That is a sign of maturity and intelligence.

The Gikuyu men need psychological help immediately in order to be liberated from their myopic thinking based on circumcision. They need to see many psychiatrists to help them mature and become real men in their minds. As I said before, talk to your sisters and they will help liberate you from your current madness on male circumcision. It does not make sense at all. I see many of you driving cars Japanese cars whose men are not circumcised. Majority of you ride the new train to Mombasa which was built by Chinese men who are not circumcised! The entire European nations except the Jews don’t circumcise their men! Yet majority of you speak English language in your homes, celebrate birthdays and many ideas from the English people who don’t circumcise their men.

Finally, I would like to remind you that many micro-nations of Kenya circumcise their men, but they don’t talk about it. Please tell the MP of Gatundu to grow up and stop embarrassing the people of Kenya who are not obsessed with circumcision the way he is!

Imara: Don’t you agree NASA has become the Beetle which rolls the cowdung into a ball and spends an entire day praying and hoping for success in dropping the ball into the tiny hole. If your so called “Luo Brothers” are as smart as you contend, wouldn’t they at some point and say: men, we are not succeeding in this, let’s try something different. And if Gikuyu women are the smarter ones as you suggest, you can have one from Nyeri – Guest1 aka Iphone4G.

Kwani parliament building is a public loo? The other day he was egging the Police to arrest him and build a cell in in his house, calling the prezo a dog licking his nuts… Now, he cowers as a five year old! Huu upuzi is too much. Round them up like cattle and show no mercy. Kenya has became a lawless country.

No offense at all but I am very disappointed by Luo behaviors. Even those that are educated, they are worse than a child who never went to a kindergarten. And even those that consider themselves elite or higher class, they are just quiet watching these actions because I believe they support it too.

First of all, I would like to apologize for hurting your feelings as a “Mugikuyu woman.” Second, all along when I read your posts, I thought that you were a man!

Dada, it is a fact that Gikuyu women have been married in practically every community among the 42 members of the Kenyan’s micro-nations.

Do you remember Wambui Otieno? She was the sister of the late Dr. Munyua Waiyaki. Her husband was the member of the Luo Community. The late son of Brother Raila’s first wife was a Mugikuyu. There isn’t enough room for me to list all Gikuyu women married outside of their community.

I am also aware that a few members of Gikuyu women have removed their “kigura.” I was wondering whether you are one of them!

In conclusion, I would like to apologize again for hurting your feelings. I sincerely did not intend to do that.

Since you have chosen to address me @ Imara personally; If you can dish it then I hope you can take it. No my clitoris is intact and I think it’s rather unhealthy to sleep with ihii. While you are at it, there is a song in kikuyu that says, Muiritu ngatha na mutumia ngatha ndakomaga na ihii! Mic drop!

    • Imara: Are you also married…
Imara: Are you also married to a Kikuyu? So, are you inferring that Kikuyu men do not marry into other communities? Wrong! Stereotypes and labeling others based on your hatred of a certain community isn’t going to take you very far.

I don’t think you have been reading my posts with an open mind. Why? How many times have I praised Brother Mwai Kibaki (a Mgikuyu karing’a) as the only efficient caring president and a man of conscience, humility, and humanity that Kenya had during his administration? I have not said anything inappropriate about Kenneth Matiba, Bildad Kagia, Josiah Mwangi Kariuki, George Saitoti, Charles Rubia, all freedom fighters, and Michuki! MichuKi was a very efficient bureaucrat and I would have voted him for him to become the president of Kenya had he lived long enough.

You have also ignored my lack of presidential endorsement to Brother Raila and also Brother Uhuru. Please read my posts next time with an open mind. One thing I sure hate is arrogance. Both Uhuru and Raila are very arrogant people and none of them is fit to be the president of Kenya.

I will ask you to have the courage to apologize like Brother Mugi did after I sent him a video clip showing the Tiriki people eating “some monkey meat.”

This is what you wrote, “@Imara another typical chauvinist African who thinks comment section bis reserved for men. How dare you! Show how shallow you are …”

This time Dada, you sincerely owe me an apology. Please ask Dada Sukari whether I have ever said anything negative about women or about her in person, although we hold different opinions on some salient issues! Sukari and I have exchanged several posts at the same time maintaining mutual respect and understanding!

Let us maintain mutual respect in our communication as Kenyan ambassadors in diaspora!

    • I owe you nothing ,you are a…
I owe you nothing ,you are a ghost in cyber world like everyone else. I do have a real life and intellectually engage with real people in my daily dealings. Save your ambassadorship to whoever needs it , I don’t . You crossed the line in my world for the gentlemen I deal with, my brothers , cousins, friends , husband and father and clearly you are not one. SO your olive branch is to little to late.

  11. @Imara, I have been ignoring…
@Imara, I have been ignoring your posts lately as did not want to offend. Lakini, it seems you take debates to another level. What has marrying a Kiuk/Luo have to do with anything? Your shade on formerlyguest2 is uncalled for and shows you up for who you are. Your arguments trail back a long time….Toroitich this, Toroitich that. Bin it and wake up to a fresh era. BTW, that jab about FG2 being a man is just low. There are a few woman the likes of FG2, Sue, Lily and MOI cherie! Kuria was of course wrong in what he was saying but unlike his Luo rivals, he did not carry out the threat nor did the guys you call mungiki. Why? They listen to logic when it comes down to it. Please check this imaginary president giving a BBC interview. The interviewer evidently think he is a big joke trying to run a parallel government: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-lgc0ut_Ws

  12. @Sukari:…
    @Sukari:

I was making my point that majority of the Gikuyu women are not obsessed with the circumcision rituals as their male counterpart. Sukari, when an elected member of parliament Brother Kuria holds scissors and claims that he want to use them on the Luo men forced me to think more about the ‘obsession” of circumcision among the Gikuyu men. This is one of the point I was trying to communicate but I guess, I failed miserably.

Second, an oath was taken by majority of the Gikuyu men that anyone who is not circumcised cannot be the president of Kenya. Sukari, I have many Gikuyu friends who were generous enough to share this vital information with me.

My solution as a member of the minority micro-nations of Kenya is that, it is time for the three large groups to take a break from the Kenyan political scene for some time so that we can have another fresh beginning and fresh air in our Kenyan political future.

If I had my way, I would suspend any presidential candidate from the Kalenjin, Gikuyu, and Luo micro-nations for a period of 10 years. These three groups are politically suffocating the other other micro-nations of Kenya.

Imara, tulia kaka. Delivery yako sazingine utisha sana, hata nisijue msimamo wako. Admittedly, sina insight za nyuma sana kama zako, lakini ukichanganyisha maneno yaliopita and current affairs ambazo zinapumua moto, your message is lost enroute unfortunately. When you directly asked FG2 kama ametairishwa, you crossed the line in my view. Umeomba msamaha from FG2, so, yapite. Now, back to the issue at hand, if you recall, I was not an avid Uhuru supported, lakini one has to make a choice when push comes to shove! I for one would rather be dished out Uhuru any time, there simply is no ALTERNATIVE. So, Imara, kata shauri nani kati ya hawa una support and stop straddling the lanes like that baba. Unatuchanganyisha sana. Lakini this difference is what makes us who we are, as long as we don’t become personal. Just saying.
