Deputy President Ruto Dispels Fears of Fallout with President Uhuru

Deputy President William Ruto has moved fast to dispel fears of a possible fallout between him and President Kenyatta over the constitution of new cabinet.

Taking to social media on Sunday, Ruto appeared to dismiss speculations of a rift between him and the President, urging Kenyans to shun “useless political debates” on Cabinet appointments and President Kenyatta’s succession politics.

He further called on politicians, especially those in Jubilee to allow the President to carry out his constitutional mandate of assembling a cabinet and deliver his campaign pledges.

“Kenyans, more so jubilee should avoid useless political debates about positions including 2022 and focus single-mindedly on delivering our manifesto voted for by the people while allowing the President the space to perform his constitutional duty to assemble the team for us,” DP Ruto said in a tweet.

Ruto’s absence when President Kenyatta unveiled the first batch of the Cabinet on Friday, like it was the case in 2013, triggered political speculations that the two had not agreed on the list.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale also dismissed the speculation saying: “We have one government which is led by President Uhuru Kenyatta. All of us, including me and Deputy President William Ruto are behind our leader and we endorse every decision he takes. Those who are speculating on the absence of the DP want to create a controversy where there is none.”

Kaka Ruto, unakumbuka yaliyompata Kaka Kalonzo Musyoka na ahadi bandia alizopewa na Kaka Mwai Kibaki? Yaonekana bila shaka utafuata nyayo zake Kaka Kalonzo baada ya 2022!

  3. Stop useless speculations…
Stop useless speculations. Uhuru has just bossed up! His demeanor has changed since he was sworn in, indicating his liberal jeans wearing days are over. I think he took heed of our advise in which we (or should I say I) were clear that “ukimkubalishe mtoto akutawale, nyumba yako itateketea!”.

Ruto has a job to do, so he should just get on with it, ata mume na mke have different duties and don’t follow each other all the time kama mbuzi… ala.. nini nyinyi?! Kirindi!
