Safaricom Chief Executive Officer Bob Collymore, who has reportedly been receiving specialized treatment in London, United Kingdom for the last few weeks, has given an update on his heath.
In a circular to company’s employees in late October, Safaricom chairman Nicholas Ng’ang’a announced that Collymore had taken a leave for a “number of months” to seek specialized treatment for unspecified illness.
“On behalf of the board, management and the entire Safaricom community, I wish Bob quick recovery and look forward to him resuming his duties as soon as the doctors allow him to do so,” he said.
In a tweet on Christmas eve, the mobile service provider’s boss confirmed he was doing well. Collymore made the revelations while replying to a tweet by @kwanjohi who had enquired about his health status.
“I’m doing very well. Thanks for asking and a Happy Christmas to you and yours,” tweeted Collymore.
Reacting to Collymore’s tweet, Nairobi County Deputy Governor, Polycarp Igathe said: “Glad to hear!!!! Been praying for you & your family & wishing you well. Have an awesome Christmas.”
