President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed disregard for the Kenyan media over what he terms as over politicking.
Speaking in Kirinyaga County on Thursday where he launched the Sh19 billion Thiba Dam project, Uhuru castigated the media for endless discussions by political commentators, even after the end of an extended political period.
The president said he is personally sick-and-tired with the media, and has even stopped watching local TV stations and reading newspapers.
“We cannot continue with politics. Time has come for us to say enough is enough. Kenyans made their decision through the ballot and so we should move on.”
” Nowadays, I’m tired of even watching TV or reading newspapers. Every time you switch on the TV you find a debate by people calling themselves political analysts. What are you analysing every day? Kenyans are tired and want to move on. We now have other responsibilities of uniting the country,” Uhuru said amid cheers and applause from the crowd.
Uhuru noted it is time to move on from politics and focus on developing the country.
“Kenyans will not eat politics… they want food on their tables, they want their children in school, roads constructed, hospitals built, security improved. This is what should be prioritised but not political debates,” he added.
The president said Thiba dam will be crucial to government’s agenda of achieving food security in the country.
“Upon completion, the dam will enable rice farmers to double their acreage under irrigation thus improving crop production within the area. It will also increase the number of households with access to clean water,” the President stated.

I get they can be negative, lakini they enable people to also see the injustices of any debate, then it’s up to an individual to make their minds up.
