The European Union Observation Mission has hailed the October 26th repeat presidential election, saying it was better conducted compared to the annulled August 8th election.
The observer mission also lauded the media for extensively covering the election.
“Based on the lessons learned in the August 8 election, media representatives demonstrated commitment to providing live autonomous reporting of tallying,” EOM said.
“In 17 out of the 19 constituencies observed by the EUEOM, the tallying process was positively assessed as being orderly and transparent,” the statement reads.
The mission further points out there was notable improvements on transmission of results. It however noted the electoral commission encountered challenges and singled out the incident involving Kandara MP Alice Wahome and the returning officer.
“The IEBC failed to hold effective consultation with the parties to assist with the challenges it was confronted with,” EOM said.
It further called on political leaders to give space to judiciary and IEBC to deliver their mandate without interference.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner of the election with 98 per cent of the votes cast after National Super Alliance leader leader Raila Odinga withdrew from the race citing lack of confidence with the electoral commission.
Uhuru garnered 7,483,895 votes from the 38 percent voter turn our compared to 78 percent during the cancelled August 8th election.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga ha said he will not recognize President Uhuru and pushing for a fresh election in 90 days.

Raila’s avenues of dissent about the electoral process are slowly narrowing. Soon he will be alone. The avenues of rigging himself into presidency have been eradicated. If he is wise, he should call it quits and retire. Lakini akiendele kufuruga furuga waKenya, his gods will get angry and his final destiny will not be as comfortable.

This article is FALSE NEWS. …
This article is FALSE NEWS. The main summary from the EU observers is:
The EU EOM assessment at this stage is that actions by both sides of the political divide have been damaging to the electoral process and have put the people and institutions of Kenya in an extremely difficult position. These actions include intimidation of the judiciary, attacks on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), introducing uncertainty in the legal framework with last-minute amendments to the electoral law without political consensus, obstruction of the electoral process, some disproportionate actions by the security forces, and shrinking space for civil society.

Your opinions are not…
Your opinions are not genuine.Majority of the Kenyans did not vote. You also gave the previous elections a clean bill of health only for Maraga to make an ass out of your so called objective opinions. Why do you even bother sometimes it is good to stay silent instead of lying to keep up appearances when we know you would give a rats behind what happens to ordinary Kenyans as long as your staff in the country have adequate time to flee incase things get thick.
There is no where in our…
There is no where in our constitution says majority have to vote……Someni Sheria. The job of iebc to to open the polling stations if Kenyans choose not to vote it’s ok.The winner is declared if he wins half of whatever votes he has garnered.
On reading majority, I…
On reading majority, I wonder majority of what should we consider? Majority of those who cast their votes,Majority of Kenyas as in 28M eligible voters, majority of registered voters as of August 8, majority of those who wanted to vote but were intimidated, majority in the counties that boycotted altogether or majority of those we imagine/wish boycotted as coerced by rao. On a desolate path one finds no friendships but hardships.
