Parts of a chopper that crashed in Lake Nakuru on Saturday have been found as the search resumed on Sunday morning.
Also found is a file belonging to the pilot of the ill-fated plane and First Aid kits, which were traced on the Northeastern part of the Lake’s shore.
However, none of the five passengers aboard the helicopter have been found.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Nakuru county commissioner Joshua Nkanatha said Kenya Navy divers are leading rescue operations at the saline water body after it was halted last last evening due to poor visibility.
Nkanatha was positive that occupants of the plane would be found at the end of the day.
On Saturday, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority in a statement said initial reports showed there were no survivors.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika confirmed three of the occupants of the helicopter were members of her communications team.
The plane crashed moments after taking off from Jarika County lodge and is said to be headed to Narok and later ferry some journalists to the same venue where President Uhuru was scheduled to address a campaign rally.
Mr Sam Gitau, Mr John Ndirangu well known as John Mapozi, Mr Anthony Kipyegon, a woman only identified as Veronicah and the pilot Apollo Malowa.
