National Super Alliance (Nasa) has revealed plans to increase its nationwide anti-Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission protests from the current two to three days a week.
The opposition outfit said it will now stage demonstrations against the electoral commission every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
In a letter addressed to Nairobi County Police Commander Japhet Koome, NASA Chief Executive Norman Magaya said they will stage demos outside IEBC headquarters in the aforementioned days to push fir the removal of officials who bungled the cancelled August 8th election and for the ruling Jubilee to shelve the proposed amendments on electoral laws.
“This demonstration will also serve to demand the withdrawal of the Election Laws (Amendment) Bill 2017 being fronted by Jubilee Party,” the letter stated.
Magaya called on the police to provide security for the opposition leaders and supporters, who will participate in the protests.
Anti-IEBC protests have been held twice a week im the last two weeks, with a majority of the demos turning violent in some parts of the country.
On Friday, one man was shot in Homa Bay and a supermarket looted and property destroyed in Kisumu.
In Nairobi, demonstrators were scattered by police as they attempted to make their ways to Anniversary Towers and clashed with a group connected to the Jubilee party.
Nasa has ignored the pressure by the international community to call off the demos, maintaining that their demands must be met before the repeat election scheduled for October 26th.
Treason! Treason! Treason!…
Treason! Treason! Treason! The long arm of government must deal with these NASA thugs ruthlessly. They are all jobless losers. Who in NASA has a job? Raila and Kalonzo must come to the front lines to demonstrate. Poor NASA fools; you will achieve nothing.
who Care for as long as we…
who Care for as long as we care you can do them all week.,Business Community Should also increase protection of their properties. In the USA w have amendment to bear arms as right. I would think in Kenya would be same. This Raila should retire and leave Kenya Alone. No is ready for more sacrificial blood
They can go daily if they…
They can go daily if they want. But after 10/26 what will they do? These people should be glad that Jubilee is putting their conditions in the law instead of taking them to the street like NASA.
I have been looking to see…
I have been looking to see if Ojinga’s son and daughters,Kalonzo’s children would be among these jobless and hopeless looking demonstrators. As usual, they are nowhere to be seen.At the end of the day, having demonstrated all day on empty stomach, their children and wives are asking the goons for money to buy unga for dinner answer hakuna!? Meanwhile,Ojinga and his NASWA team and of course families retire to their posh homes in Karen and after dinner, they have enough to throw away or feed the dogs while the demonstrators sleep hungry. This is replicated every time there is a demonstration in our city and towns across the country.
Due to lack of the basic necessities, the demonstrator resorts to looting and stealing. The rest is history.
Kisumu can never develop as…
Kisumu can never develop as long as the only major activity that the locals engage in is demonstrating and looting businesses
One day the very same goons will undress this old mad man in his retirement and frogmarch him in the same streets he was always leading them in riots once they come to their senses.
It is a known fact that the best way to control people’s minds is to keep them on an ending poverty, this is what Ojinga has done. The poor Luo lads cannot even see it and will never wake up from their slumber. If Ojinga was a politician from Central Kenya or many other parts of the country, he would have been rejected along time ago. Raphael Tuju tried very hard to develop Rarienda, he brought water and electricity but Ojinga rejected him and asked his goons to uproot the water pipes and the electricity poles, no one raised a finger and Tuju was rejected, this won’t happen anywhere else in Kenya but Luo Nyanza. The LOP ( Lord of poverty) is correct and well earned but who will ever help Luo Nyanza ? Keep them poor and tell them it’s because they have never become president of Kenya and for that keep them blind folded.
How come not one NASA idiot…
How come not one NASA idiot leader condemned the violence? That seems to me they are condoning and encouraging it
For all we care, you make…
For all we care, you make them 8 days week. You will still achieve zero, nada. Tuliamka!
