Stop Living in Denial and Prepare to Face President Uhuru, COTU Boss Francis Atwoli Tells Raila

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has told National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga to stop living in denial and prepare for the October 26th repeat elections.

Atwoli further asked the former Prime Minister to stop issuing threats that there will be no elections.

Atwoli, pointed out that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) should stop living in denial that he was not consulted on the date set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), to conduct the repeat exercise.

The COTU boss also urged Raila to campaign in all corners of the country before the fixture between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Raila should be ready for the elections any day, he should stop living in denial that he was not consulted on the date for the repeat election. He should equip himself by campaigning across the country,” reiterated Atwoli.

On Friday, President Uhuru accused the Opposition leader of holding Kenya hostage with unending conditions over how the repeat election should be conducted.

Speaking in Kiambu County, the Head of State claimed Raila fears losing to him and thats why he did not want to go to the poll.

“Mungu ni yule yule na waKenya ni wale wale” (God is still the same and Kenyans are still the same). That is why he does not want an election,” Uhuru pointed out.

The rate at which RAO is coming up with conditions, claims and counter claims points to something up his sleeves. RAO is not campaigning yet and may just show up sporadically to meet the people. In the meantime he will ensure that most of his irreducible minimums one way or another are addressed (thanks to the heightened tension in the country). Make no mistake, he may still make another laundry list of demands. Rao may be squeezing every opportunity to making a lasting legacy for himself. It may be delusional on my part but I guess after pushing IEBC and JP to the wall, he may pull a “Uhuru aendele” clarion call that will propel him to the moon as the “African statesman” that only Nelson Mandela can measure up to. Me “misthinks”, this will make us all owe him something greater than a presidency (than was never to be).So when RAO says no election this or that date, in heart of hearts there actually might be none. After all what a better way to exit the political scene (and create instantly solid legacy)when the whole world is watching? Out of that suspense and sigh follows an applause that democracy has won!
Kindly wake me up when all this is done.

You just hypnotized me for a minute but then woke up to find we are still in the same pickle thanks to the son of Oginga .
