I'm in NASA to Stay, 'Missing' Isaac Ruto Says

Former Bomet governor Isaac Ruto has maintained that he will not ditch opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) for Jubilee Party anytime soon and insisted that he is in NASA tp stay.

Ruto dismissed those peddling lies that he had abandoned the Raila-led ship for ruling Jubilee after losing to Governor Joyce Laboso.

“I am in NASA to stay. I have decided to maintain a low profile to allow Bomet people to settle,”.

“I know the election was marred with a lot of irregularities since government machinery were used to intimidate my supporters,” said Ruto at a press conference in Nairobi.

The former Council of Governors chairman, however, said he will not dispute Laboso’s win, adding that it was too late for him to go to court to challenge the election.

Ruto also rubbished claims that President Uhuru’s Jubilee party had approached him to woo him ditch Nasa.

Ruto maintained that most of his agents were thrown out of polling centres during the August 8th election, which influenced the poll in favor of his rival Joyce Laboso.

“I am Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader. How can I defect to another political outfit. Jubilee has not approached me but I have seen things blown out of proportion on social media,” he said.

Ruto said that the fact that he conceded defeat did not translate to meaning the election was free and fair.

The Chama Cha Mashinani party leader described himself as a ‘wounded general’ at war.

Ruto has maintained a low profile since his defeat to Joyce Laboso, which has opened room for speculation over his future in Nasa.

He has been skipping most Nasa events including the Supreme Court hearings, where Nasa successfully argued for a repeat election.

  1. If what you (Ruto) said is…
If what you (Ruto) said is true, then Jubilee manipulated the election all over the country! Then, Jubilee alliance in parliament is made up “fake and illegitimate winners.”

Therefore, we need a national election but this time not run by the incompetent and corrupt IEBC!
