Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to sober up while addressing his supporters in public.
The COTU boss urged the President to exercise caution before he starts politicking again because he risks making mistakes in the process.
The outspoken trade unionist told President Kenyatta to stop being ’emotional’, adding that he has no right to attack the Supreme Court judges who invalidated his win.
“So I’m appealing to his excellency the president to be little bit to be sober, to sober up because even the way he’s addressing the public he appears not sober. He should be himself, if I was president Uhuru Kenyatta today I would be still thinking what to do, you just don’t hit the road immediately and start politicking, you will make a lot of mistakes in the process,”.
“And even those people you voted for you would still change their mind and say, ‘this is not the right person.’ And you still have a large following in Kenya sober up you have your supporters, Raila has his supporters,” said Atwoli.
While addressing Jubilee Governors and MCAs at State House in Nairobi on Saturday, President Uhuru said he would respect the ruling of the four SCOK judges but would at a later date ‘revisit the judgement.’
Atwoli also called on opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) to allow the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct the fresh polls and urged Chief Justice David Maraga not to interfere with the electoral commission’s mandate.
