Former Starehe Member of Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru

Former Starehe Member of Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has been cleared from charges of causing chaos during Jubilee party primaries held in April.

The “Glory is Here” fame preacher had been accused of causing disturbance and malicious damage to property at a polling station in Nairobi during the nominations. Wanjiru had allegedly stormed City Park polling station accompanied by her supporters who vandalized voting materials during Jubilee nominations on April 26th.

She was seeking to fly the Jubilee flag for the Nairobi governor seat alongside former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and senator Mike Sonko, who clinched the nomination.

Milimani chief magistrate Francis Andanyi acquitted the Bishop on Monday after senior assistant Director of Public Prosecution Daniel Karur presented that parties involved in the case had agreed on an out of court settlement.
