National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is most popular candidate in Nairobi County in the presidential contest, a new opinion poll by Infotrak shows.
In the new poll, National Super Alliance (NASA) is the most popular political party or coalition, with 54 per cent support while President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party is second at 38 per cent.
The survey shows that if the election were held today, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga would get 56 per cent of the total votes cast in Nairobi County, edging President Uhuru Kenyatta who would manage 40 per cent.
Tunza Coalition Presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida and Independent candidate Joe Nyaga have 0.5 per cent support each, while Michael Wainaina (Independent) and Ekuro Aukot (Third way Alliance) are tied at 0.1 per cent.
In the 2013 general election, President Uhuru Kenyatta bagged 659,490 votes in Nairobi, representing 46 percent of total votes cast, while Raila Odinga got 691,150 votes representing 49 percent.
Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta have both marked Nairobi County as one of the key counties as they seek for the country’s top seat. Nairobi has 2,250,853 total registered voters for next month’s elections.
Infotrak carried a face to face interview from July 15th to 22nd. The survey involved 15,000 respondents and had a 95 per cent degree of confidence.
