Hellen Nkaissery, the wife of the late Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Nkaissery has been admitted to a Nairobi hospital with high blood pressure following the death of her husband on Saturday morning.
Kajiado Central Member of Parliament, Elijah Memusi while speaking to the media at the Lee Funeral Home on Saturday morning, said that Mrs. Nkaissery was rushed to the hospital and was responding well to treatment.
The MP said that Nkaissery’s wife developed high blood pressure after receiving the heart-breaking news about her husband’s demise.
Various leaders drawn from the government and the opposition have been making their way to the Lee Funeral Home, as they join Nkaissery family and Kenyans in mourning the late CS.
Nkaissery passed away on Saturday morning after reportedly being admitted at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi for a check-up, the State House said.
Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua said that Nkaissery fell unwell and was rushed to the city hospital for check-up, but sadly passed on a few hours later.
Sources in the family said that Nkaissery suddenly fell unwell at around 1:00 am, was taken to the Karen Hospital at 1:30 am Saturday and passed on at around 3:00 am.
He died aged 67.
