Jubilee Party primaries losers will be the biggest beneficiaries to nomination into the 12th Parliament, as they dominate the list submitted by President Uhuru’s party for possible Nomination to the August House.

Nominated MP Isaac Mwaura, Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and their Runyenjes counterpart Cecily Mbarire are some of the big name losers in the party nominations who have had their names into the Jubilee party nomination list.

Political parties will be battling out for the 12 seats up for grabs in the National Assembly and a further 20 positions in the Senate.

The number of slots given to a party depends on the number of elected MPs that they get in the general elections, with parties with majority both in the National Assembly and Senate taking the lion’s share.

Isaac Mwaura is serving in the 11th Parliament following his nomination by Orange Democratic Party (ODM) in 2013, but ditched the Raila led party for Jubilee last year. He suffered defeat in the hand of Simon King’ara in the Jubilee primaries for Ruiru in April.

On the other hand, Kamanda and Mbarire lost at the primaries to musician Charles Njagua in Starehe MP Contest and Martin Wambora for Embu Governor race respectively.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin Beth Mugo is also in the Jubilee party list of those who will be nominated into the Senate. She was nominated to the senate in 2013 by TNA party after losing in the race for Dagoretti South MP.

Jenniffer Shamalla, Bishop Kosgei,  Faith Waigwa, Aden Noor, Sandra Odhiambo, Maina Kamanda, Cecily Mbarire, David Ole Sankok,  Hadima Yusuf, Gedion Keter made to the list of those proposed to be nominated to the national Assembly.

Those in the list of nomination to the senate are; Mary Seneta, Naomi Jillo Waqo, Caroline Daudi, Veronica Maina, Millicent Omanga, Beth Mugo, Alice Milgo, Caroline Chilago, Winnie Guchu, Falhada Dekow Iman.

Isaac Mwaura and Joyce Moding will represent People Living with Disability in the National Assembly, while Prengei Victor and Wambui Nyutu will represent the youth.
