Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has attacked the Jubilee party senatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja, calling him an academic dwarf.
Kidero says Sakaja bowed out of the Nairobi gubernatorial race because he lacked relevant academic credentials required for the job. “You remember Sakaja wanted to be the governor but I told him not to waste our time because he does not have a degree certificate,” Kidero said.
Kidero alleged that claimed that the former President Uhuru’s TNA National Chairman had failed in seven units while pursuing an undergraduate degree at the University of Nairobi in 2007 and refused to re-sit for them, and dared him to produce his degree certificate.
“If he wants to be a leader let him be an example to our children and go back to school and complete (his studies) before seeking a political seat. We cannot allow leaders to be bad examples to our children,” Kidero said.
But in an earlier interview with a local newspaper, Sakaja said that he had sorted out the issue. “That issue was done and dusted,” he told the Star newspaper. “By the time you are getting into some of these things [campaign for governor], you have to make sure that your back is covered.”
Sakaja will be facing ODM’s Edwin Sifuna in the race to succeed Mike Sonko who is garnering for the Nairobi governor seat.
I would rather have someone…
I would rather have someone clean and untainted like Sakaja without a degree anytime than have a thief and a looter with a useless degree like Kidero whose insatiable appetite and greed for public coffers has been well documented in Mumias Sugar Company and in the City of Nairobi.
