Officials at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) have confirmed that an American Imam has been stranded at the airport for a week due to immigration issues.
According to the airport officials, the Imam was flying back to the US with his family. A senior security official at the airport told the Standard that he was aware there was an American citizen stranded at the airport because US had denied him back to the country.
“I am aware of some American who is unable to travel back to his country for more than a week because of immigration issues. Americans have said they don’t want him,” the officer said.
