North Mugirango MP Charles Mongare’s daughter and her boyfriend have been arraigned in  court over links to Somalia based terror group Al Shabaab. The two are accused of having links to the terror group, which has organized several terror attacks in Kenya including the Garissa University attack that left over 200 students dead, West gate mall attack in Nairobi’s Westlands area and a series of other attacks in the country.

There have been reports that the terror group has been recruiting desperate Kenyan university students, promising them huge amounts of cash.

The MP’s daughter Erisiana Sabiri, 24, denied the allegations, claiming that her father has colluded with police officers to frame her to frustrate her relationship with Ahmed Salim, who is a Muslim.

The two university students were arrested on May 25.
