Details of an elaborate campaign team and strategy of National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate, Raila Odinga have emerged days before the opposition outfit launches its campaign across the country.

Raila and his team are expected to formally roll their campaign on June 3; two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee launch their re-election drive.

Amani National Coalition leader and NASA principal, Musalia Mudavadi has been handed a role of being the overall leader of the former Prime Minister Raila’s team and will be assisted by a secretariat and smaller teams of regional leaders, most of them, sitting governors.

Former head of the Cord secretariat, Norman Magaya will be the campaign’s executive director of the opposition outfit as it looks to send the Jubilee administration home.

Mudavadi will directly report to the NASA Pentagon who include ODM’s Raila Odinga, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ ula and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto of CCM.

Former Jubilee operative, Jimmy Wanjigi will be in charge of resource mobilization, while experts such as economist David Ndii and Abubakar Zein of the East African Legislative Assembly will offer professional support.

According to multiple sources, most team members will be based in the counties and report to their coordinators and regional team leaders.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who is the ODM deputy leader, will be tasked with campaigns in the Coast region while Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and his Deputy Governor Jonathan Mweke will lead a team in ensuring NASA wins majority votes and seats in the capital city-county.

In Ukambani region, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana , Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and Kitui Governor Julius Malombe will be the overseers of NASA campaigns.

Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, will lead the Western Kenya team comprised of Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong, Vihiga governor aspirant Yusuf Chanzu and Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga.
