Nominated MP Oburu Odinga failed in his bid to run for Bonds Constituency MP on an ODM ticket on Wednesday. Oburu, a brother to ODM leader Raila Odinga, lost in the ODM nomination to incumbent Gideon Ochanda, garnering only 4,000 votes against Ochanda’s 28,446 votes.
Jakoyo Midiwo, another Raila’s relative and National Assembly Minority Leader suffered a humiliated defeat in his Gem Constituency. Jakoyo failed to reclaim his seat, losing to Elisha Odhiambo who garnered 13,400 votes against Midiwo’s 8,950.
