The government of the United Kingdom has issued a new travel warning for Kenya.
In the travel warning issue on Wednesday, the UK government warns its citizens to stay away from public gatherings during this electioneering period.
“Rallies and protests may take place during primaries and in the lead up to, during and after elections. You should take care in public places where people gather, and exercise a heightened level of vigilance,” read in part a statement from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The new warning does not warn British nationals from visiting any particular regions in Kenya, but a previous warning them to avoid visiting Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, Lamu, and Eastleigh in Nairobi still stands.
The UK advisory comes less than a week after the United States issued a similar travel alert for its citizen, also related to the upcoming primary and general elections (READ: US State Department Issues Travel Alert for Kenya).
The Kenya general elections take place on August 8th, 2017.
You (U.K. ) created this…
You (U.K. ) created this monster – New Kenyans by your global decadent goals of, ” Divide and Rule.” Shame on you. You didn’t actually leave Kenya in 1963, you left newly groomed “British looking Kenyans” who are genetically Kenyans but culturally are the same as you “…arrogant British looking Kenyans. ” These new U.K. Kenyans” have been in power since 1963! Teach them how to get along well and serve their fellow “real Kenyans.”
This is the second warning I…
This is the second warning I am seeing , the first one was from The US and maybe more are coming and mostly from former colonial powers. We Kenyans and Africans should start thinking seriously about our future and stop being fools to ourselves because not every country means us well. Are we that violent ? Considering the fact the source of the world instability is from those countries issuing warnings. I think us Kenyans even though far from perfect we are on the right track , since independence we have now three Governments, As compared to other Africans ,that is progress. Among the major achievements since the independence is thika superhighway, the super constitution , the standard rail gauge line and many more projects. I repeat we can not be perfect and changes do not come overnight. We need to continue dismantling the colonial mindset and start believing ourselves that we can succeed. Let us face it most of those countries issuing warnings they have conformity mentality . We need to free ourselves from this mental slavery whereby you are stuck in one position trapped in that position thinking without someone approval then nothing is fine. The Africans volume of trade within themselves is very low. Why is that? we must stop being doormats for other countries problems.
