Sauti Sol’s Bien Baraza Finally Weds Long-time Nigerian Girlfriend Chiki

Bien Amie Baraza, a member of the popular Kenyan music band Sauti Sol, finally tied the knot with his long-time Nigerian girlfriend Chiki Kuruka Onukwe.

The two lovebirds exchanged their vows in a private wedding ceremony held at a hotel in Lavington, Nairobi on Friday.

The low-key wedding ceremony was attended by a few invited guests among them Bien’s Sauti Sol bandmates; Willis Chimano, Savara Mudigi and Polycarp Otieno.

Other guests included singers Nyamari Ongegu alias Nyashinski and David Mathenge aka Nameless among others.

“The wedding is at Lavington right and only a few celebs are invited. It is a very secret event with tight security. No gate crashers or media” a source told Classic FM.

The couple was set to marry last year but the wedding was pushed to this year because the bride’s family was not around. Bien, 32, proposed to Chiki, a dance choreographer, in February 2019 at a cinema in Westlands, Nairobi.

The two met soon after Chiki came to Kenya from the United Kingdom where her family lives. She was introduced to Bien by Kenyan fashion designer Emmanuel Jambo.

“We dated for a whole year before we decided to go public about our love affair. The only reason we decided to go public was for people to see that what we have is real. We did not want to go into stories of cheating, neither did we want to let people start suggesting that either of us had gotten a “sponsor”,” said Chiki in a past interview.

  1. I have always wondered why…
I have always wondered why Nigerians and West Africans are so morally different from the rest of the World. It turns out that Nigerians and West African populations may carry genes from an ancient archaic hominin “ghost”, for which there is no physical record. In a study which I was not a participant scientist examining the genomes of West Africans detected signs of ancient ‘Ghost’ ancestors. Scientist say mysterious archaic hominins may have interbred with early humans in West Africa and Nigeria and Nigerians may carry upto nine percent of their genes. Scientist say that ancient, humanlike population is still undiscovered in fossils but it left a genetic legacy in present-day West Africans and Nigerians

    • Thanks Dr. Hanene for…
Thanks Dr. Hanene for bringing this to our attention. At first I thought you were bullshitting but when I googled it I was shocked to learn your information was not fake. According to scientist a distinct sequence of nucleotides forming part of a chromosome, the order of which determines the order of monomers in a polypeptide or nucleic acid molecule Nigerians carries DNA of upto 9% from a ghost extinct human-like population. The proportion of Neanderthal-inherited genetic material is about 1 to 4 percent and is found mostly in European populations. It is believed that 20 percent of Neanderthal DNA survived in modern humans, notably expressed in the skin, hair and diseases of modern people. This new discovery of Nigerian and West African genes puts them in an entirely different category of beings. Science and DNA does not lie and it cannot be argued Scientists are picking on Nigerians. Nigerians are considered outlaws in most part of the World. One the trait they inherited from their extinct ancestors and which also clearly disguises them from the rest of the World population is their overwhelmingly urge not to conform with the society norms. As it is well documented Nigerians and West Africans minds is wired to look for loopholes that can help them commit crimes

  3. That theory applies equally…
That theory applies equally to Kikuyus too. Criminals by nature will kill and steal from a neighbor!
