American Rapper Rick Ross Accused of Lip Syncing during Live Performance at Nairobi Concert

The much publicized show, NRGWave featuring popular American rapper Rick Ross went down on Saturday night at the Carnivore grounds in Nairobi.

The show was marred by a maddening traffic, a muddy venue and a one-hour delay, but this didn’t stop fans from arriving at the joint to witness one of the most celebrated hip hop singers in the world perform in Nairobi.

At 2:30am, the Everyday I’m Hustlin hit-maker arrived on stage and spent about 10 minutes parading himself to thousands of fans who thronged the venue for what was sold as one of the biggest entertainment shows in the country in recent years.

During the actual performance, the 42-year-old walked up and down the stage, dropping just a few stanzas here and there, as his popular hits played in the background.

After an hour of lip syncing majority of his famous hits, the Maybach recording label owner left the stage. This has left some fans complaining, some of them having forked out as much as Sh Sh10,000 just to watch him live.

Urban hip hop group Camp Mullah, Rapper Khaligraph Jones and Nyashinski curtain-raised the show for Rick Ross. NRG Radio host Mwalimu Racheal was the main MC for the concert.

Ross landed to a VIP reception at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday morning. Hundreds of fans camped at the Nairobi airport to welcome him before he was driven away in a large motorcade of luxury vehicles.

Good that is what you get. You start off by showing people how they are little Kings, out of this world convoys from the airport using our cops on motor cycles on tax payers money only for them to come and crap on your heads. Lip synching, biggest disrespect any singer can treat their customers to. His fans washindwe alafu wa-grow up.

I couldn’t have said it any better. Kenyans are so gullible on anything American,C rated artists, C rated fast foods, C rated clothes etc

Very well said. “A fool and his money are soon parted”. Kenya has become a dumping ground for anything washed up from America. Gullible Kenyans swallow it, hook, line and sinker. Have you ever noticed that any mzungu with a remote comprehension of kiswahili becomes an instant celebrity?

This left some fans complaining?? Hmmm, let me get the violin.
You get what you get when you pay for a cheap product. Kshs 10,000 to see a fat, out of shape & unhealthy rapper perform music for one hour? Angekufia hapo Carnivore.
I heard thru the grapevine that next NRG is bringing lil Uzi Vert or lil Yatchy to come mumble like an auctioneer taking bids to a rap beat.
    Be there.

  3. Goodness!!! Why are most…
Goodness!!! Why are most black Americans out of shape?? The obesity is a serious issue considering Rick was hospitalized recently for health related complications. He should focus on losing weight and not making money he’s not living to enjoy.

It seems all we see is obesity and health problems. We forgot to see alcohol as a problem too. The biggest poison to your heart is alcohol. Drinking a six pack or 2 in a week is not good for many organs in your body. Thats when you here people say “Maina araimbire maguru orimwe. Turona tari kurogwo” typical language/thought if you cant recall Maina was a daily or 3x/week six pack drinker. Keep drinking, you may get a tanked belly and think its money/satisfaction cause you eat good

  5. Y’all should keep your mouth…
Y’all should keep your mouth shut if you couldn’t afford to attend, the Boss’s concert was lit A. F!
