A Kenyan man who is presently admitted to hospital in France after he was diagnosed with coronavirus has sent a message to Kenyans.
In a video recorded from his hospital bed, Stephen N. Kinuthia, alias Wamother, asks Kenyans to treat Covid-19 seriously, saying the disease is real and infects everyone. “What I can tell you Kenyans, this virus is real. I can tell you for a fact that if I was not brought to the hospital I would be dead,” says Kinuthia.
“I urge Kenyans to be cautious while visiting supermarkets. Protect yourself, people, and family.”
Kinuthia, who says he cannot tell how he contracted the virus, noted that his condition has improved since he was admitted to hospital.
“The virus infects everyone. They used to say that Africans are immune but that’s stupidity. It is killing Africans, the elderly, the rich, the poor and all the races,” he notes.
He further calls on Kenyans to follow the guidelines issued by the government to stem the spread of the virus, pointing out that the fact that developed countries like the US, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Belgium have closed their borders shows how serious the Covid-19 pandemic is.
As of Sunday, Kenya had confirmed 126 cases of Covid-19, four recoveries, and four fatalities.
