Emmanuel Milton Okoth, a 21-year-old Kenyan man, was brutally murdered in Houston Texas last weekend. His family said that he left home on August 4th in company of a friend for a trip. The two would never return home, only to be found dead under mysterious circumstances.
Harris County Police say Emmanuel and another male were killed sometime between the night of Saturday, August 5th and early Sunday, August 6th. Their bodies were found inside a vacant apartment in the 9001 block of Jones Rd in Houston.
Police are still piecing together the circumstances that led to the murders, and have asked anyone with information to call the Harris County Sherriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
The family describes Emmanuel as a loving, joyful and adventurous young man, and his death has left them heartbroken.
“Our moved to the US from Kenya and left our mother behind in pursuit of a better life and fulfillment of our dreams,” Emmanuel’s brother Fred Okoth says.
Emmanuel graduated from Klein High school and later joined college and became a machinist.
“Our brother very gifted and always left a lasting impression on everybody who crossed his path. The case is currently ongoing and we hope and pray for justice for our youngest sibling and his friend,” says Fred.
The family is appealing for help from well-wishers to help flow his body to Kenya for burial.
“We are kindly reaching out to you, asking for financial assistance and prays so we can transport our late brother to our home in Kenya as the cost is a bit much for us.”
