Limuru 3 Reaffirms Uhuru Kenyatta as Mt Kenya's Political Kingpin
Mt Kenya Delegates Attending Limuru III Conference

Mt Kenya leaders convened in Kabuku for the Limuru III meeting on Friday, solidifying their resolve to retain former President Uhuru Kenyatta as their political kingpin.

This decision comes as the region prepares for the 2027 General Election. The gathering drew prominent figures, including NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Karua, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, the former Laikipia governor Ndiritu Muriithi and former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu. During the meeting, the attendees expressed their continued recognition of Uhuru Kenyatta as the Mt Kenya kingpin until he officially steps down from this position.

Notably, the leaders called for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Uhuru Kenyatta to convene a meeting to reach a unanimous agreement on the region’s political direction leading up to the upcoming elections. This move underscores the importance of unity and consensus within the region’s political landscape. Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Wachira Kiago emphasized that the region had let Uhuru down by rejecting the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) which included the one man one shilling one vote policy. Kiago praised Uhuru’s commitment to the region and urged unity across political affiliations to address matters of political and economic development.

Echoing Kiago’s sentiments, former political aspirant George Maara clarified that there is no intention to install another kingpin. According to Maara, Uhuru Kenyatta is the recognized leader in Mt Kenya and he will pass on the kingpin status when he deems it appropriate. This statement reinforces the region’s confidence in Uhuru’s leadership and their willingness to respect his decision regarding the transition of power. Jeremiah Kioni, who moderated the meeting, revealed that Uhuru was not directly involved in the gathering.

Kioni further promised to organize another meeting to bring all Mt Kenya leaders together for further discussions.

  1. ONE MAN ONE SHILLING minus…
ONE MAN ONE SHILLING minus ONE VOTE is okey.BBI was rejected because it intended to expand the useless GK yet Kenyans could not afford current one.Only a Mathare patient can dream of additional county, constituency, ward etc.Jambazi Uhuru like other thugs and murderers should be at CECOT prison.Or what can you say about a demon intending to built a shs 500b.city with money stolen from hungry billionaire fools?

  2. The title of the this…
The title of the this article is wrong. There has never been and there will never be a Kingpin in the Gikuyu community. The Gikuyu community is guided by God and “rika”. Let us not give a label- English word “Kingpin” to a community where no such word or meaning of the same has never existed and is not applicable.
Seek the meaning of the carrier of ” Muthigi” which does not mean Kingpin.
